This 70-Year-Old Robbed A Bank So He Didn’t Have To Keep Living With His Wife

I’ve been in some relationships where I’ve literally just run out of the house. Been in car arguments where I stopped the vehicle and just walked away from it, keys still inside. Cowardly? Yes. Immature? Absolutely. But I was tired of arguing and really didn’t feel like hearing it anymore that I felt the need to just get the hell out of there.

But I don’t think I’ve ever done anything as drastic or elaborate as this bank robbery suspect.

70-year-old Lawrence Ripple handed a bank teller a note saying that he had a gun and he wanted money.

But here’s where it gets weird. After receiving the money, Ripple sat down in the bank lobby and waited for the cops to arrive. He told a guard that he was “the guy he was looking for.”

When authorities showed up and brought Ripple in for questioning, Ripple said he would “rather be in jail than at home.”

Ripple had an argument earlier in the day with his wife when he angrily wrote the note in front of her and said that he would rather be in prison than live in a home with her.

The man might be crazy, but you can never say that he doesn’t fulfill a promise, no matter how self-destructive.
